Easter Oysters and Croquet

Our Kitchen Aide mixer earned its keep on Easter Sunday. Katie made a mountain of meringue to top her famous lemon pie and I mixed the dough for a fresh dill and onion rye bread.

We spent the day with Katie's family shucking, eating, baking, and playing a cutthroat game of croquet. The menu was simple and wonderful.

The Menu:
Smoked Salmon Plate
Champagne
Raw Oysters from Abbeville sometimes topped with Bowfin Caviar
Deviled Eggs
Charbroiled Oysters in butter and garlic topped with Parmesan
Dill, Onion, Rye Bread
Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Artichoke Hearts and topped with a plum sauce
Radish, Feta and Farmer's Market Greens salad
Homemade Lemon Pie
Gambino's Birthday Cake

Monkey's Easter wish came true, a day at home without the dog.

The day ended with ginger snoozing next to me while I edited these photos.

Much more to come....
