The most recent issue of The Local Palate (available at all bookstores and even in Fresh Market here in Lafayette) contains an article photographed by me with a story by Rien Fertel. The LP is a great new magazine based in Charleston, SC and is just starting to break into the national publishing market. Rien and I spent a night hanging out with Cedric Watson and his band while he assembled a catfish courtbouillon and told us about learning to cook from his grandmother. To see all of my photos published you need to pick up a copy of the magazine, but if you want to read Rien's article you can find it online here http://www.localpalatemag.com/mayjune-2012/item/the-creole-jewels.html.
These photos are a mix of my outtakes and a few of my favorites from the article.
Catfish Filets
Desiree Champagne (vest frottoir aka “washboard”)
Bread Pudding
The magazine also featured Rien and I in their contributors section, so you should go pick up a copy and read all about us and Cedric. Plus on the pages following our article is a beautifully photographed piece on the wonders of salt.
